Donation of Free Seedlings at Marimani Secondary School
On Sunday, 7th September 2025, at exactly 2:00pm, the Amani Kenya Youth Empowerment Organization (AKYEO) hosted a special community event at Marimani Secondary School, Mombasa, focusing on environmental sustainability and youth empowerment. The initiative involved the donation and distribution of free seedlings to students, teachers, different organizations, government agencies and the local community as part of AKYEO’s ongoing mission to promote greener, healthier, and more sustainable environments.
This noble activity aimed to encourage young people and the surrounding community to actively take part in tree planting and environmental conservation efforts. By providing seedlings, AKYEO seeks to nurture a culture of responsibility, climate action, and appreciation for nature, while at the same time empowering youth with knowledge on how small steps can create lasting change.
The event brought together school leadership, parents, local leaders, and environmental champions who share the vision of making Mombasa and Kenya at large more environmentally resilient. Through such community-driven projects, AKYEO continues to inspire hope, reduce the impacts of climate change, and build a legacy of sustainability for future generations.
